Overview
|
|
To encourage post-secondary education BLNDC established the George Brown Memorial Bursary in 1995.
|
|
The bursaries are open to any 1st or 2nd year First Nation student in a full-time program, with first consideration given to those enrolled in the field of Business Administration, Commerce or Natural Resources.
|
|
Amount of Awards
|
|
First Year - three bursaries of $500 each
|
|
Second Year - one bursary of $1000
|
|
In the event of no second year applicants, two additional bursaries of $500 will be available for first year students.
|
|
Criteria
|
|
Students who are attending a full-time program, who are of First Nations ancestry, and who have a financial need. Selection is based on financial need and satisfactory academic achievement. Preference is given to present or former Lakes District residents.
