BLNDC encourages our local Lakes District youth to gain first-hand business experience during their school years. The program initiated in 1991, consists of awards of $200 to a specified number of the best applications, half each from the native and non-native communities, in the form of a mini-business plan for a summer business. A $100 bonus will be awarded to a student with the best report on his or her business at summer's end.
Criteria
Applicants must attend school within the Lakes District, including schools in Granisle and Fort Babine, and be in Grades 7 to 12 at the time of their application.
Application Process
In the Spring, BLNDC distributes application forms throughout its member communities and local schools. Applications must be received at BLNDC by the 5:00 pm June, 2010 deadline.
